People look at a mechanical elephant made of wood and steel on June 27, 2014 as part of the artistic project "Les Machines de L'ile" (The Machines of the Isle) on the site of the former shipyards in Nantes, western France. The project, created by French artists François Delaroziere and Pierre Orefice, is at crossroads of Jules Verne’s "invented worlds", of the mechanical universe of Leonardo da Vinci, and of Nantes’ industrial history.
