FRANCE-POLYNESIA-AUTONOMY-CELEBRATIONS

French Polynesia was granted full internal autonomy in 1984. During the ceremony a monument honouring France's former President Jacques Chirac was also inaugurated not far from the one dedicated to the Victims of the French Nuclear tests in the Pacific Ocean.
