SUDAN-DARFUR-UN

A handout picture taken on July 1, 2014 and released by the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) on July 2, 2014, shows a women pushing a water tank while her child carries two jerrycans to collect water provided by UNAMID in the camp for internally displaced people (IDP) in Khor Abeche, South Darfur. According to the local community, over 4,000 IDPs live inside a haven constructed by UNAMID at the vicinity of its compound since May 2014, following an attack on March 22, when 300 heavily armed men set fire to dozens of shelters and stole livestock belonging to the residents. The haven zone is 70,000 m2 and has watch towers with UNAMID military personnel deployed 24 hours, solar lights, two community centers and latrines. AFP PHOTO / UNAMID / ALBERT GONZALEZ FARRAN
