Graca Machel (R), the widow of South African global icon Nelson Mandela, meets with participants of the Trek4Mandela, an initiative that will bring South Africans to climb mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness of the work of the Caring4Girls Initiative. The local NGO provides girls in early stages of puberty with sanitary pads: thousands of underprivileged girls miss up to 50 hours of schooling per year due to the lack of sanitary pads.
