French Prime minister Manuel Valls delivers the closing speech on the last day of the social conference, with unions and employers at the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) at the Palais d'Iena in Paris, on July 8, 2014. The social conference, the third of French President Francois Hollande's term, focuses on creating 500,000 badly needed jobs in France, discussing the nuts and bolts of an ambitious government plan to create more employment in return for tax breaks to companies, amid a boycott by the two leading labour organisations CGT and Force Ouvriere (FO).
