The workers and employees of the plant repair armored vehicles and tanks which were used by Ukrainian governmen forces during the assault on pro-Russian insurgents in the east of the country. Ukraine warned on July 9 that its assault on pro-Russian insurgents may last another month and rejected calls for a ceasefire as it moved tanks within striking distance of the rebels' two remaining strongholds.
