US-IMMIGRATION-VARGAS

(FILES) - File picture taken on July 11, 2011 shows former Washington Post and San Francisco Chronicle reporter Jose Antonio Vargas pausing as he speaks at the Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco, California. The Philippine-born journalist, who was part of a Washington Post team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2008, revealed in a 2011 New York Times magazine essay that he was undocumented. Vargas, who has lobbied for the rights of fellow undocumented immigrants in the United States, was detained by US border patrol agents July 15, 2014, officials said. He was detained at the airport in McAllen, Texas, where he planned to board a flight bound for Los Angeles, his campaign group said. Justin Sullivan/Getty Images/AFP PHOTO FILES
