Penitents carry a statue of the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen, as thousands of people attend the procession at the Puerto de la Cruz on the Spanish Canary island of Tenerife on July 15, 2014. Every year, local residents of the resort carry the statue of the Virgin from its chapel to a small beach in the fishing habour.
