The remains of an explosive device lies on the tarmac of Tripoli international airport in the Libyan capital on July 21, 2014 after Islamist-led militiamen stepped up their assault on the country's main airport, which is controlled by rival fighters. The fighting, which erupted on July 13 and shut the international airport, also injured 120 people, according to figures for the week until July 19. The fighting has halted all flights and caused extensive damage to planes and airport infrastructure, with aviation officials saying Tripoli airport could be closed for months.
