A plane belonging to Israel's national airline El Al sits on the tarmac of Ben Gurion International airport, near Tel Aviv, on July 23, 2014, as US Secretary of State John Kerry flew into Israel from Cairo -- despite US warnings over airline safety after a Hamas rocket landed near Ben Gurion airport the previous day, leading airlines to halt flights to Israel. Kerry said that diplomacy to end the ongoing Gaza bloodshed has made progress, but warned more time was needed while the UN chief urged an end to a conflict that has killed more than 630 Palestinians over the past two weeks.
