Muslim leaders look to the West for the new moon at Seapoint Promenade, a popular public area next to the sea, the sighting of which will signify the end of the Muslim holy month of fasting, called Ramadan, on July 27, 2014, in the centre of Cape Town. Muslims around the world celebrated Eid al Fitr which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, after the sighting of the new moon.
