(FILES)-- A file photo taken on June 30, 2011 shows a mountaineer climbing the "Voie royale", which heads to the Mont-Blanc, to the top of the Dome du Gouter, a 3,304 meter peak in the French Alps. Like a US father who attempted to climb Mont Blanc with his two children aged 11 and 9, some climbers have made the summit a "playground" to quench their thirst for an ego boost, a distressing and sometimes dangerous phenomenon deplored by professional climbers.
