FRANCE-HISTORY-WAR-WWII-ANNIVERSARY
TO GO WITH AN AFP STORY BY PATRICK BAERT
Historian Alexander Boucard poses on August 7, 2014 in Monterfil, where three women, Marie and Germaine Guillard and Suzanne Lesourd were shaved and humiliated then hanged and buried in a nearby wood between August 3 and 4, 1944, accused of collaborating with the Germans during World War II. On the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of France, Lucette Rosty, her sisters and people from the village of Monterfil want to pay tribute to the three women, victims of purges which followed Word War II.
