British Foreign Minister Philip Hammond arrives at Number 10 Downing Street in London on August 13, 2014 to attend a Cobra meeting on the situation in Iraq to be chaired by the prime minister. British Prime Minister David Cameron returned to his Downing Street office one day earlier than expected from his summer holiday to chair a Cobra meeting where he will get the latest updates on the crisis in Iraq. Britain is to transport military supplies from other states to Kurdish forces battling militants in northern Iraq and strengthen its aid mission there, the government said on August 12.
