Doc Rivers, the head coach who helped his Los Angeles Clippers players navigate the turbulent waters of the Donald Sterling scandal, will stay with the club through the 2018-19 NBA season. The Clippers announced on August 27, 2014 they had agreed a contract extension with Rivers, who led them to a franchise-best 57-25 record and a second straight Pacific Division title in his first campaign with the club. His future with the Clippers had become uncertain in the wake of the scandal involving former owner Sterling, who received a lifetime ban from the NBA after racist remarks he made to a woman friend became public.
