In this photograph takenon August 13, 2014, a member of staff hangs white water rafting equipment at Ceylon Adventure on the Kelani River at Kitulgala some 50kms east of Colombo, where a key scene from the 1957 film, the Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed. Its detonation is one of the most iconic scenes in movie history. Now, 57 years after it was blown to smithereens, authorities in Sri Lanka plan to rebuild the "Bridge on the River Kwai" to assuage the anger among locals over a controversial dam project.
