ISRAEL-SYRIA-UN-CONFLICT-GOLAN
UN vehicles carrying 45 Fijian peacekeepers members of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force who were kidnapped two weeks ago in the Syrian side of the Golan Heights by Al-Qaeda-linked fighters, is seen after the group's release on September 11, 2014, in the Israeli-occupied side of the strategic plateau. Al-Qaeda linked rebels in Syria released the group today, a UN spokesperson said. The peacekeepers, who were snatched from Quneitra on the Syrian side of the strategic plateau on August 28, were released unharmed and said to be in "good condition," the spokesperson said.
