An undated handout picture released by Japan's Riken research institute and Foundation for Biomedical Research and Innovation shows iPS cells made ??from the skin of a woman for transplant surgery. Japanese researchers on September 12 conducted the world's first surgery with "iPS" stem cells on serious eye disease, possibly paving the way for treatment of a common cause of blindness, two institutions involved said.
