British architect David Chipperfield walks between tree trunk columns that are part of his installtion "Sticks and Stones - an Intervention" in the upper glass hall of the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) in Berlin on September 30, 2014. From October to December 2014, Chipperfield transforms the glass hall of the building by German-American architect Mies van der Rohe (1886-1969) into a hall of columns consisting of 144 tree trunks. "Sticks and Stones" is a prologue to the renovation of the gallery, which will be carried out by Chipperfield in 2015.
