Yemeni supporters of the separatist Southern Movement shout slogans demanding independence from the north during a demonstration on October 14, 2014 in the southern port city of Aden. The demonstration in the largest city of the south, answering calls by hardliners in the Southern Movement, marks the 51st anniversary of the south's revolt against British colonial rule. The separatists, as well the Shiite rebels, rejected plans unveiled in February for a six-unit federation in which two regions are planned for the south as part of a political transition.
