Russian President Vladimir Putin (L) and his Serbian counterpart Tomislav Nikolic lay flowers at the WWII military cemetery in Belgrade on October 16, 2014. Putin was expected in Belgrade to secure Russian interests in Serbia, its traditional ally but also EU aspirant, and to attend 70th anniversary of Belgrade's liberation from Nazi occupation.
