ISRAEL-ARCHAEOLOGY-HISTORY
Israel's Antiquities Authority staff Rina Avner displays a 2,000-year-old commemorative stone inscription dedicated by the Roman army to Roman Emperor Hadrian, in east Jerusalem’s Rockefeller museum, on October 21, 2014. The stone, which measures a metre by a metre-and-a-half(three feet by five feet)and weighing a tonne, was found near Jerusalem's Old City's Damascus Gate and has been called "among the most important Latin inscriptions" discovered in the Holy City as it sheds light on the ancient Jewish revolt against the Roman Empire.
