BRAZIL-SLAVES-QUILOMBO
Kely Fonseca puts a cloak on a statue of Saint Benedict in a village located in the Praca 14 de Janeiro neighbourhood, Manaus, Brazil on October 20th, 2014. Fonseca is a member of the Comunidade Negra do Barranco Sao Benedito, a village comprising 25 families that has been defined as the second urban "quilombo" (a settlement inhabited by escaped slaves) to be recognized in Brazil.
