NETHERLANDS-AIRCRAFT-KLM
The KLM McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft coming from Montreal is welcomed by jets of water as it lands at Schiphol Airport, near Amsterdam, on October 26, 2014 during a special ceremony celebrating his last commercial flight. The Dutch carrier is the last to operate the trijet plane on passenger flights and will retire it by the end of the year. After McDonnell-Douglas merged with Boeing in 1997, it was decided to stop producing the model, although it became a popular aircraft for its passengers, due to a roomy cabin layout and its famous large windows.
