Sarah Richards answers questions about the techique of egg freezing during an interview at her Upper West Side apartment October 22, 2014 in New York. Richards, 44, was one of the first to use this procedure considered experimental until 2012 by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). She has frozen her eggs to eight times to 36 and 37 years, first in Canada, "where it was cheaper", then in New York. She "saved 70 eggs" now frozen in two countries, she told AFP. The procedures have swallowed up her boyfriend's savings, his parents helped. In all, $ 50,000. In Richards' book "Motherhood, Rescheduled: The New Frontier of Egg Freezing and the Women Who Tried It," she tells the stories of four women—including herself—who attempt to turn back time by freezing their eggs.
