PERU-REBELS-CRIME-VICTIMS
Relatives (L) of Maximo Cabrera, murdered by the Maoist terrorist organization Shining Path in the 80’s, sit near his coffin after a procession in the Andean village of Nahuinpuquio, province of Huamanga, in the Ayacucho region, some 500 kilometres east of Lima, on October 26, 2014. The remains of 75 victims of the internal war of the 80’s were finally returned to their relatives after being exhumed and identified with DNA-recognition technology, three decades after the decade-long armed conflict against Shining Path that left more than 10,000 victims.
