FRANCE-HEALTH-EBOLA-GUINEA-WAFRICA-AID
Deputy general manager of the French Establishment for Preparation and Response of Sanitation Emergencies (EPRUS) Nicole Pelletier, EPRUS general manager Marc Meunier, French minister for Social Affairs, Health and Women's Rights Marisol Touraine, EPRUS doctors and mission chiefs Antoine Perrin and Christpohe Savio, attend a meeting with EPRUS staff members before their departure to Guinea to help fight the Ebola virus on October 31, 2014 in Saint Denis, north of Paris. France has announced plans to set up Ebola treatment centers in Guinea and this week contributed an extra 20 million euros (25 million dollars) to international efforts following a UN appeal. The outbreak has claimed almost 5,000 lives, according to the WHO -- almost all in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone -- while the number of cases registered worldwide has soared to 13,703.
