ROMANIA-VOTE-PROTEST
People demonstrate with a banner reading "United" in a street of Bucharest, to protest against Romanian Prime Minister and presidential candidate Victor Ponta on November 8, 2014. Thousands of people have manifested in Romania Saturday against the government, accused of having attempted to obstruct the vote of Romanians abroad in the first round of the presidential election last Sunday, won by Prime Minister Victor Ponta. Romanians have not been able to vote on November 2 due to insufficient number of polling stations opened in countries like France, Germany or Britain. Ponta won the first round of the presidential with 40.44% of the vote against 30.37% for the candidate of the right Klaus Iohannis. Mr. Iohannis got 46% of the votes of Romanian diaspora. The presidential elections in Romania are regarded as crucial to the former Communist bloc country as fear of a takeover of justice by the political power in case of victory of Ponta are alive.
