Queen Sofia of Spain stands by a painting of El Greco during the inauguration of the exhibition "Friends and Patrons of El Greco in Toledo" at the Benaki Museum in Athens on November 12, 2014. The exhibit will run until March 1, 2015. Domenikos Theotokopoulos known as El Greco, relied on a personal circle to inspire and support him during his nearly forty years of residence in Toledo, Spain, where he headed after leaving Crete in 1567.
