EGYPT-UNREST-SINAI-BORDER
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY MONA SALEM
A picture taken on November 4, 2014 shows a deserted street in the divided border town of Rafah, along the border with the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, during the curfew imposed by Egyptian authorities. More than 800 homes are being demolished along the border with the Islamist-controlled Palestinian enclave, leading to the displacement of more than 1000 families, to build the 500-metre- (yard) wide and 13.5-kilometre-long (around eight miles) buffer zone aimed at combating jihadists reportedly infiltrating into Egypt from across the border.
