EL SALVADOR-INTIPUCA-MIGRATION-REMITTANCE
Carmen Zavala, 68, recalls her children who emigrated from their home town to the US, in Intipuca, 179 km southeast of San Salvador, on October 21, 2014. More than two million Salvadorans in the United States sent $ 2.5 billion a year in remittance. The people of Intipuca receive the highest percentage in the country, which has become a key resource for the benefit of citizens who keep the town with good infrastructure, electricity supply, a cultural center and a football stadium, among other social benefit works.
