FRANCE-WWII-LIBERATION-ALSACE-COMMEMORATION
The French flag is raised on the top of the Strasbourg Cathedral, one day after a commemoration ceremony on November 24, 2014 in Strasbourg, eastern France, as the city celebrated the 70th anniversary of its liberation from German occupation on November 23. Units of the French 2nd Armored Division entered the city on November 23, 1944 and raised the French flag over the Strasbourg cathedral.
