SYRIA-CONFLICT-DAILY LIFE
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY SAMMY KETZ
A Syrian man walks in the government-held side of Aleppo in a street protected by huge canvas which residents have stretched across it to make it hard for rebels, some 100 metres (yards) away, to see them, in the al-Midan neighbourhood, opposite the rebel held area of Bustan al-Basha, on November 18, 2014. The front line that slices through Aleppo separates the ancient Syrian city's residents into two distinct worlds, the only thing uniting them the fear of stepping into a sniper's sights. This feeling is eerily similar on each side of the line, scanned by gunmen perched in once residential buildings. AFP PHOTO/JOSEPH EID
