The founder of the Alveus funeral home, Cedric Vanhorenbeke, 30, prepares a cardboard-made casket painted in wood finish at his shop in Brussels on November 27, 2014. Cardboard and wicker-made caskets, simple organic cotton shrouds and personal wicker-designed funeral urns are products on offer at Alveus, as part Vanhorenbeke’s strategy to provide more ethical and ecologically friendly funeral services and break away from more traditional funeral homes and their higher fees.
