FRANCE-WOMEN-CHILDREN-PHARMACY-HEALTH-FILES
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY BRIGITTE CASTELNAU
(FILES) A file picture taken on September 24, 2009 in Paris shows a box of Distilbene (Diethylstilbestrol or DES), an hormone which was prescribed to pregnant women in France between 1950 and 1977 to prevent miscarriage. The 'daughters of Distilbene' or women whose mothers took the medecine, have an increased risk to develop breast cancer but there are no malfunctions of the genital organs for the 'grand-daughters' (third-generation) according to a study published on December 1, 2014.
