Five dresses worn by the late Princess Diana, four on a red carpet and one beside her poster, are displayed at Julien's Auction House in Beverly HIlls, California on December 1, 2014, ahead of the December 5th and 6th auction of Items Belonging to the Late Princess. The dresses include the ivory silk chiffon Zandra Rhodes Evening Gown (C), worn to the May 1997 London Palladium Birthright benefit; a petal pink silk Catherine Walker gown worn in Autumn 1983 to the reopening of the Savoy theater and to a performance of La Boheme at the London Coliseum; a chartreuse Taroni silk georgette Catherine Walker gown, worn in November 1983 to a namquet at the Dorchester Hotel given by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia; a strapless black and white Catherine walker gown worn to a private event; and the burgundy wool coat dress designed by Caroline Charles, worn by the late Princess in 1982 while visiting the Milan Asian Community Playgroup in Wandsworth, London, and again in 1983 at the Aberdeen airport carrying Prince William when returning from Balmoral to London (R).
