URUGUAY-US-GUANTANAMO-HOSPITAL

Cori Crider (R), lawyer of Syrian national Abu Wael Dhiab -- recently freed from Guantanamo prison and transferred to Uruguay along with five other inmates, arrives with members of the law firm with clothes and supplies for her client at the Military Hospital in Montevideo, on December 9, 2014. The men, who arrived in Uruguay Sunday on refugee status after 12 years of detention without charge, are undergoing medical exams at the hospital and are expected to leave in freedom after more than a decade in what one called the "black hole" of the US military prison. Uruguayan President Jose Mujica had announced in March that the South American country would take in the inmates on "humanitarian grounds," in a bid to help his US counterpart Barack Obama fulfill his long-delayed promise to close the prison set up in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
