US-DOW-FRESH RECORD
(FILES) File photo dated December 11, 2014 shows a financial reporter's cap with the Dow Jones projected 18,000 mark stitched upon it at a New York City office. The Dow closed December 23, 2014 above 18,000 for the first time, prolonging a so-called "Santa Claus" rally after a surprisingly strong US economic growth report. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 18,027.45, up 68.01 points (0.38 percent).
