BOSNIA-WORKERS-PROTEST
A Bosnian worker speaks with a policeman at Bosnia - Croatia border in Orasje on December 28, 2014. Nearly 200 employees of Bosnian workers left the city of Tuzla on December 24, embarking on a journey of 77 kilometers to the Croatian border, after several state owned factories simply shut down and left them jobless and unpayed for the work they provided before closing. Neighboring Croatia, a European Union country, is seen as more prosperous while Bosnia's transition to capitalism and market economy, that began two decades ago, included the privatization of state-owned factories, but many of them have gone bankrupt. Existing laws prevent many of the workers from being laid off, but they often don't get paid for their work. Bosnian authorities so far didn't show willingness to solve the issue, while the border police blocked the group in the intention to cross the Border to Croatia. AFP PHOTO STR
