ITALY-GREECE-FERRY-RESCUE
Italian Red Cross volunteers set up a camp to accomodate the rescued passengers of the "Norman Atlantic" ferry, in the port of Manfredonia, southern Italy, on December 30, 2014. Ten passengers dead, dozens unaccounted for and no-one able to say with any certainty how many people were on board the Norman Atlantic when it burst into flames. A Greek ferry tragedy in the Adriatic turned into a murder mystery on December 30 as a fiasco over the accuracy of the passenger list added to questions over safety systems aboard. The maltese cargo Aby Jeannette with some of the rescued passengers aboard could not reach the port of Manfredonia due to bad weather, and was routed by the italian Coast Guards towards Taranto harbour.
