GERMANY-UKRAINE-RUSSIA-CRISIS
German Chancellor Angela Merkel (R) and Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk (L) give a joint press conference after their meeting at the Chancellery in Berlin on January 8, 2015. Yatsenyuk is in Germany ahead of a scheduled mini-summit in Kazakhstan between the leaders of Russia, Ukraine and France next week. The Ukrainian forces have been battling pro-Russian separatist rebels for almost nine months in eastern Ukraine in a conflict in which more than 4,700 people have been killed.
