TURKEY-FRANCE-ATTACKS-MEDIA
A floral tribute is displayed on railings following a minute of silence in front of the French Consulate in Istanbul on January 8, 2015 in commemoration of the victims of an attack by armed gunmen on the offices of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris on January 7 which left at least 12 dead and many others injured. The massacre, the country's bloodiest attack in half a century, triggered poignant and spontaneous demonstrations of solidarity around the world. Charlie Hebdo is famed for its irreverent views of religion and its decision to publish controversial cartoons of the prophet Mohammed, first released by Jyllands-Posten in 2005.
