HAITI-QUAKE-ANNIVERSARY
Vincent Adelson(76) looks out from his home on a hill in Canaan, outside of Port au Prince, on January 2, 2015, where he lives alone. Canaan is a settlement to the northeast of Port-au-Prince, where families and other victims of the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010 live. Canaan is without electricity and water, and the inhabitants of Canaan buy water in small shops. Five years after a powerful earthquake demolished Haiti's capital, more than a million homeless survivors have been rehoused, but thousands remain under canvas, or struggle with trauma and injury.
