TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY SHAUN TANDON, ENTERTAINMENT-US-SKOREA-MUSIC-OPERA

The opera, which is premiering at New York's January 8-17 Prototype Festival of experimental theater, adapts the 1960 short story "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurt which describes the struggles of a boy with disabilities as he faces a domineering, macho brother who wants him to be "normal."
