Indian Hindu sadhus (holy men) arrive to board buses to leave for the Gangasagar Mela in Kolkata on January 11, 2015. Sadhus and Hindu pilgrims from all over the country come for the annual Hindu Gangasagar Mela festival, with more than 500,000 Hindu pilgrims expected to gather at the Gangasagar to take a 'holy dip' in the ocean at the confluence of the River Ganges and the Bay of Bengal, to mark Makar Sankranti, a holy day of the Hindu calendar considered to be of great religious significance in Hindu mythology.
