FRANCE-ATTACKS-CHARLIE-HEBDO-POLITICS

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, flancked by the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo (L), speaks to journalists on January 12, 2015 in Paris after a visit in a school and in the Rue des Rosiers (street of the rosebushes) in the Jewish quarter of the Marais district, to inspect the deployment of security forces. France announced an unprecedented deployment of thousands of troops and police to bolster security at "sensitive" sites including Jewish schools Monday, the day after marches that drew nearly four million people across the country in tribute to the 17 victims of a three-day killing spree in Paris. The killings began on January 7 with an assault on the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine in Paris that saw two brothers massacre 12 people including some of the country's best-known cartoonists and the storming of a Kosher supermarket on the eastern fringes of the capital which killed 4 local residents.
