IRAQ-CONFLICT-SINJAR

Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga fighters have recaptured the village after it had fallen under IS group control, but displaced Yazidis have not returned to their houses yet as the area remains full of land-mines that still need to be cleared. Thousands of the autonomous Kurdish region's peshmerga fighters launched a major operation backed by US-led air strikes last month which broke the second IS siege of Mount Sinjar this year.
