MIDEAST-ISRAEL-PALESTINIAN-OUTPOST
Recent undated picture handed out by Peace Now movement shows an aerial view of Amona outpost (L), Ofra settlement(C) and the Arab village of Ein Yabrud in the West Bank. The number of Jewish settlers living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip increased by more than five percent over the last 12 months, interior ministry figures showed 22 July 2004. A total of 243,749 settlers were recorded as living in the occupied territories (excluding east Jerusalem) at the end of last month, a 5.3 percent rise on the same figure for 2003.
