FRANCE-MUSIC-SACHA DISTEL-OBIT
(FILES) - A picture taken 20 October 1988 in Paris shows French singer and jazz guitarist Sacha Distel, who died 22 July 2004 on the French Riviera after a long illness, police said. He was 71. After his first hit "Scoubidou" in 1958, Distel recorded more than 200 tunes, which enjoyed enormous popularity in France and abroad in the 1960s and 1970s. He also appeared in several French films and television productions.
