Berlin governing mayor Michael Mueller (4thR) and representatives of politics and sports organisations press a button in front of the illuminated Brandenburg Gate to officially open campaign for the bid of Berlin to host the 2024 or 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games, on January 23, 2015 in Berlin. The illumination on the gate reads : "We want the games, Berlin for Olympics". Germany has not hosted an Olympics since tragedy-marred Munich Games in 1972.
